Jane Turner clickety-clicks to finish T8 in
Norwegian Open and earn £1,093
An excellent final round of six-under-par 66 earned Jane Turner (West Linton) a joint eighth finish in the Ladies Norwegian Open Championship at Skjeberg Golf Club, Borgenhaugen.
Turner packed seven birdies into her final round in which she was four under par for the last six holes as she finished on three-under-par 213. Her earlier rounds in the 54-hole event were 72 and 75. She earned £1,093.
The Scot, pictured in her Scotland blazer before she turned pro, finished 10 strokes behind the winner by three, Sweden's Linda Wessberg who shot 69, 70 and 64 for 13-under 203.
The other Scots in the event did not do so well. Michele Thomson (Meldrum House) finished T29 on 217 with rounds of 70, 70 and 77. She earned £570.
Laura Murray (Kippie Lodge) missed the cut by nine shots with scores of 79 and 77.

Linda Wessberg claimed the Ladies Norwegian Open title with a final round of 64, to finish at 13 under par, three shots ahead of fellow Swede Jenny Haglund.
The 36-year-old from Gothenburg saved her best round for last, recording eight birdies and 10 pars on her way to her first victory on the LET Access Series.
Haglund, who won the recent Norrporten Ladies Open at the beginning of August, also finished with an impressive 64 for a ten under par total.
Charlotte Thompson from England closed with a disappointing 74, two over par, for third place at 8 under and joint overnight leader Nina Muehl recorded a three over par 75, to finish at seven under and 4th position on her own.
Thompson and Muehl were five shots clear of the field after two rounds.
Thompson had recorded a second consecutive 67 for a 10 under par total and Muehl produced a 65 to sit alongside the Englishwoman at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes.
Thompson has been in great from over the last few weeks, narrowly missing out on her first win in a play-off with Spain's Maria Parra last week.
Tonje Daffinrud was the highest placed Norwegian, shooting 70 for a 5 under par total and fifth place.
The final day featured an exciting format, played alongside the Men’s Norwegian Open, over the Skjeberg course. It’s the first time an event on the LET Access Series has featured this format, which follows that of the Oates Victoria Open, which is played at the Beach Links in Victoria, Australia.
The LET Access Series now moves to Finland for the EVLI Ladies Finnish Open, which takes place at Hillside Golf Club in Vihti from Thursday to Saturday this week.
