Scots lying 34th as S Koreans take 7-shot lead in Women's World Amateur Team Championship

Scotland, represented by Jess Meek (Carnoustie), Germany-based Rachael Taylor and Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies), are 34th in a field of 55 teams after the second round of the Espirito Santo Trophy women's world amateur team championship in Mexico.
The Scots improved their best two-from-three daily tally with a score of 149 (74 from Rachael, 75 from Jess), seven shots better than on the opening day. Connie had an 81 for the second day running, neither score counting.
Their 36-hole aggregate of 305 is 30 shots behind the tournament leaders by seven, South Korea (138-137 for 275).
Switzerland (282) are lying second, five shots behind Ireland who have improved into third place with a second-round 141 score. Leona Maguire shot a 70 and Olivia Mehaffey a 71. Young Annabel Wilson had the non-counting score for a second day in a row, a 79.
England's Meghan MacLaren, Alice Hewson and Gemma Clews are 17th on 297 with daily totals of 147 and 150. Meghan scored 73 and Gamma 77 today. Alice had a non-counting 78.
Wales are 42nd in the field of 55 with a total of 312 (157-155). Kath O'Connor had a 76 and Chloe Williams a 79 today. Megan Lockett had a non-counting 86
