Gemma Batty - Stirling
Day two of the Scottish students' Fife golf tournament saw the players battle the weather as well as a tough Kittocks course at Fairmont St. Andrews. With a cut for the top 24 men, every shot was sure to count.

The women went out right at the start of the day, and endured the worst of the weather.
Despite the challenging conditions, first year student Penelope Brown (Stirling) shot a superb, round of the day, 78 to close up on the leaders.
Overnight pacemakers Gemma Batty (Stirling) and Ireland's Sinead Sexton (Stirling) maintained their stranglehold on the top of the leaderboard with rounds of 81 and 83 respectively.
The second best women's score of the day was an 80 from Chloe Goadby (Stirling) which allowed her to move up to third place ahead of Sunday's final round on the Torrance course.
As the weather started to take a turn for the better the men started their second rounds, knowing that a good score would guarantee a further round. One man to take advantage of that was George Burns (St Andrews), who, after his 83 on Friday, improved by 14 strokes with three birdies and only one bogey leading him to a score of 69 and up into 17th place.
At the top of the leaderboard Ireland's Kevin LeBlanc (Maynooth) was the man to make a move from the first day’s group of 74s, a one over 72 moving him into third place, only three shots back from the lead.
Sean Flanagan (Maynooth) continued his solid golf from day one, with five birdies helping him to a level par round today and one over for the tournament. Overnight leader Chris Maclean (Stirling) maintained the pole position with a 73 for level par 143, a shot ahead of Flanagan.

With the players returning to the Torrance Course on Sunday, it is set up to be an exciting day of golf as both the men and the women look to take home the title and valuable points towards the British Universities' golfing.Play starts at 8am on Sunday morning.
