EMMA ALLEN TOP BRIT AT TUCSON, ARIZONA
Emma Allen from Southampton, a second-year student at Missouri University, was the highest placed finisher of the six British players competing in the Mountain View Collegiate tournament at Mountain View Golf Club, Tucson, Arizona (March 10 to 12).
Emma had rounds of 69, 74 and 77 for a total of four-over-par total of 220 over a par-72 course of 6,201yd.
She finished T16 in a field of 75 players.
Next came Chloe Weir from Belfast, a sophomore at Kansas State. She shot 75, 74 and 73 for 222 and 26th place.
Connie Jaffrey, a recent winner on the US women's college golf circuit, did not do so well in this one. The sophomore student at Kansas State from Kilwinning finished T27 on 223 with rounds of 71, 77 and 75.
Elizabeth Prior from Surrey, a sophomore at Nevada-Las Vegas, finished T33 with scores of 73, 70 and 75 for 224.
Former Scottish women's amateur champion Clara Young from North Bertwick, a third-year student at Missouri, shot 74, 75 and 76 for T39 on 225.
And, finally, Jess Meek from Carnoustie, in her final few months after four years at Missouri, shot disappointing scores of 75, 73 and 79 for 227 and a 46th place finish.
Arizona (850) won the team title with a bit to spare. Mexico State (871) were runners-up and Houston (874) third in a fueld of 13 teams.
Kansas State and Missouri tied for sixth place on 888.
