HEATHER MUNRO'S EIGHTH TOP 10 USA FINISH
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Elon University women's golf team improved four spots in the final round to earn a top-10 finish at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The Phoenix finished tied for seventh out of 43 teams with a three-round total of 885 (+21).
Elon carded the third-lowest team score of any squad on the final day, shooting a combined 6-under par. Aurelia Hamm led the Phoenix with a 4-under par 68 in the final round. Four of Elon's five players shot even par or better over their final 18 holes.
Coastal Carolina captured the team title for the second straight year, beating College of Charleston by one stroke. College of Charleston's Laura Fuenfstueck won the individual title at 8-under par.

Leading the way for the Phoenix was Heather Munro, who earned the eighth top-10 finish of her career. Munro closed with a 72 that put her alone in sixth place at 213 (-3).
Hamm posted a career-low round of 68 to improve 20 spots and finish alone in 16th place at 218 (+2). Hamm's bogey-free round included four birdies, three of which came on the final four holes.
