ELIZABETH PRIOR LEADS UNLV TO TEAM WIN

Elizabeth Prior from Surrey, a second-year student at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, produced one of her best performances so far on the US women's college circuit by finishing T4 in a field of 45 and leading UNLV to victory in the team event at the Mountain West Women's College Championship over the Dinah Shore course at Mission Hills Country Club, Rancho Mirage in California.
Elizabeth had rounds of 73, 70 and 71 for a total of two-under-par 214 over a par-72 course of 6,270yd.
With a bag of nine birdies over the 54 holes, Prior finished four shots behind the winner by two, Fernanda Escauriza (St Diego State) who shot 71, 69 and 70 for six-under 210.
Two San Jose State players finished second and third but UNLV placed all five players in the top 18: T4, T4, T6, 12th and T18.
UNLV won the team title for the second year in a row by three shots from San Diego State (871) with San Jose State (876) third in a field of nine teams.
The UNLV Rebels now head for the NCAA Regions from May 8 to 10.
It marks the 15th-consecutive regional appearance for UNLV Women's Golf.
