HAMBURGER LEADS SCOTTISH GIRLS WITH A ROUND TO GO
Hamburg's Hannah Karg shot two eagles and six birdies in a brilliant second-round, seven-under-par 66 for a tally of eight-under 138 which gives the German player a commanding lead of seven strokes going into the final round of the Scottish Under-18 girls' open stroke-play championship at Montrose Links (on Friday).
Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore), who had shared the overnight lead with Karg, fell away with a 77 for 149 and is now tied seventh.
The leading home player is Jillian Farrell (Cardross) who had six birdies in a 74 for 147 and three-way share of fourth place.
Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam improved by eight strokes with a 71 for 149 which lifted her into the top 10.
Jasmine Mackintosh (Hazlehead) made the cut with several shots to spare although she had a disappointing round of 81 for 159.
The leading 60 and ties with totals of 163 and better will contest the final round.
