LEONA MAGUIRE HALVES MATCH, LISA WINS
Duke University women's golf team beat the highly rated Florida State team 4-1 in the opening match of the Northwestern Quad match-play tournament at Glencoe, Illinois.
Leona Maguire had a square match with Matilda Castren who was two up at one stage of the tie which teed off at the 10th. Maguire eventually birdied the second last hole, the eighth, to square the match and the ninth was halved.
Leona's twin sister Lisa beat Amanda Docherty 2 and 1.
Duke were due to meet Northwestern in their next match but it was cancelled due to bad weather.
