MEHAFFEY AND WEIR FINISHED IN TOP 20 AT TEMPE, ARIZONA

Mehaffey finished T8 in a strong field of 81 players with rounds of 72, 73 and 69 for a two-under-par total of 214 - eight behind the individual winner and Arizona State team-mate, Italy's Roberta Liti (69-69-68 for 206).
The Curtis Cup player had five birdies and two bogeys in halves of 34-35 in her final round. Weir shot 73, 72 and 72 for 217 and a top-20 finish in T17 position. She shot four birdies but ran up a double bogey 6 at the 11th in halves of 34 and 38. England's ElizabethPrior (UNLV) finished T27 on 220 (74-72-74).
Jess Meek (Missouri) from Carnoustie tied for 39th place on 223 with another Scot, former U18s champion Fiona Liddell (Baylor). Meek had scores of 72, 77 and 74. Liddell, daughter of a Scots-born club pro in Germany and a German mother, shot 69, 77 and 77.
Connie Jaffrey (Kansas State) from Kilwinning finished T49 on 226 with rounds of 75, 73 and 78 Former Scottish women's champion Clara Young (Missouri) from North Berwick finished T56 on 228 with rounds of 78, 75 and 75.
Southampton's Emma Ellen (Missouri) shot 76, 75 and 78 for 229 and a T61 finish. Arizona State, who also provided the runner-up, US Curtis Cup player Monica Vaughn (64-72-71 for 207), won the team title by 20 shots from Arizona (859) with Washington (864) third and Baylor (866) fourth. Kansas State (884) finished eighth, and Missouri finished T10 on 891 in a field of 14 teams.
