MHAIRI HALL WINS STIRLING AND CLACKMANNAN COUNTY TITLE FOR FIRST TIME

Mhairi Hall - 2017 Stirling and Clackmannan County Champion 

Mhairi Hall (Bathgate) beat Linda Allan (Glenbervie) by one hole in an exciting final of the Stirling and Clackmannan women's county golf championship at West Lothian Golf Club this evening (Friday).

It looked long odds against Hall winning the title for the first time when she was four down after six holes. But she had halved the deficit by the turn and squared the contest by the 17th.

Hall then won the 18th to cap a fighting comeback to become county champion for the first time,  17 years after she won the junior girls county title. Mhairi, coujnty captain in 2012-2013, was beaten in the 2013 final.

For Linda Allan it was a third defeat in the final after winning the title as Linda Robertson in 2006. She lost the finals of 2008, 2010 and now 2017.
