TITLE-HOLDER LOUISE TOPPLED IN QUARTER-FINALS
Top seed and defending champion Louise MacGregor (Falkirk) lost in tonight's (MON) quarter-finals of the Stirling and Clackmannan women's county golf championship at West Lothian Golf Club.
Six times champion since 2010, Louise was beaten surprisingly easily 6 and 4 by Margo Gardner (Linlithgow).
Former Curtis Cup player Alison Davidson, county champion seven times since 1992, is now favourite for title No. 8. The Stirling player overcame a gritty opponent, Margaret Tough (Falkirk) by 4 and 3 and now plays Mhairi Hall (Bathgate) in Wednesday's semi-finals.
Hall won a close quarter-final on the 18th green against Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie). Hall beat the No 2 seed Lesley Gibb (West Lothian) in the first round of the match-play.
The other semi-final will be contested by Margot Gardner and Linda Allan (Glenbervie), who beat Ruby Logan (West Lothian) 3 and 2. Results:

5.30pm - Gardner v Allan.
5.40pm - Davidson v Hall.
