DUMFRIES-SHIRE RETAIN SOUTH
DIVISION WOMEN'S TITLE
Last year's Scottish women's county champions Dumfries-shire retained the South Division title at Peebles today (Monday) and go forward to Glenbervie to defend the national title in September.
Dumfries-shire, who had beaten Borders 5-4 on Saturday and drawn 4.5-4.5 with Galloway on Sunday, needed Borders to beat Galloway in today's final match in the three-cornered contest and that's what Borders did, by a 6.5-2.5 margin after making a clean sweep of the three morning foursomes.
