It's a Connie Jaffrey v Clara Young final on Saturday and Carol Wilson beats Sammy Leslie to win Clark Rosebowl
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies), conqueror of the North's last hope, Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) in the morning quarter-finals, has reached Saturday's final in the 103rd Scottish women's amateur championship at Royal Aberdeen.
Jaffrey, pictured below on the first tee this afternoon, a student at Kansas State University and the 2013 Scottish U18 girls champion, beat 17-year-old professional's daughter, Jillian Farrell from Cardross, by 3 and 2 with five under par figures.
St Rule Trophy winner at St Andrews last weekend, Clara Young (North Berwick), pictured above, national champion at Monifieth in 2015,
claimed her place in the final by beating Jennifer Saxton (Muckhart) 4 and 3 in the other semi-final.
Young is a student at the University of Missouri.
It's been the warmest afternoon so far in an otherwise dreadful week of weather for June.
In the all-North-east Clark Rosebowl final, Carol Wilson (Murcar Links) beat former Aberdeenshire county champion Sammy Leslie (Aberdeen Ladies) by 3 and 2.
