ANNA (13) IS TOP SCOT IN EIGHTH PLACE AT MORTONHALL

Anna McKay (Crail Golfing Society), 13-year-old winner of the Fife women's county championship earlier this season, finished as the leading Scot in eighth position at the Scottish U16 girls 36-hole stroke play championship at Mortonhall Golf Club, Edinburgh today (Tues)

Anna had rounds of 80 and 73 for a total of 153 - six shots behind the winner from Durham Alexandria Stevenson (Beamish {Park). She finished two shots ahead of the joint runners-up, Ffion Tynan (Minchinhampton) from Wales and Thalia Kirby (Harleyford from Buckinghamshire).

Other Scots in the top 20 were Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe), T10 on 155 (77 78), Evanna Hynd (Balbirnie Park), T14 on 158 (80 78), Porscha Wilson (Burntisland), T17 on 159 (81-78) and Carmen Griffiths (Aboyne) T19 on 160 (78 82).
