MICHELE AND VIKKI ADVANCE TO LPGA Q SCHOOL STAGE 2

Scots Michele Thomson and Vikki Laing advanced to Stage 2 of the LPGA Tour Qualifying School by finishing within the top 90 and ties at the 72-hole Stage 1 tournament over the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club, California.

Ellon's Michele (Meldrum House) had rounds of 69, 70, 72 and 73 for a four-under-par total of 284 which earned her a share of 25th place behind the winner by six strokes, Swedish amateur Linnea Strom (69-69-67-66 for 17-under 271).

Vikki qualified in joint 60th place with a total of 289 (74-72-72-71).

Stage 2 will be played at Venice, Florida from October 18 to 22.
