TOP TEN FINISH BY ALICE HEWSON IN TENNESSEE
Curtis Cup player Alice Hewson (Clemson University) from Berkhamsted, finished T8 in a field of 81 players at the Mason Rudolph Championship college tournament at Vanderbilt Legends Club, Franklin, Tennessee this week.
Alice had scores of 74, 66 and 70 for a total of six-under-par 210 over a par-72 course of 6,335yd.
She finished 10 shots behind the two players who tied for victory (no play-off) on 16-under 200: Lauren Stehenson (Alabama) (68-68-64) and Maria Fassi (Arkansas) (65-71-64).
Sweden's Linnea Strom (Arizona State) finished T4 on 206 (67-69-70).
Olivia Mehaffey (Arizona State) from Northern Ireland, like Hewson a GB and I international player, finished TY30 on 214 with rounds of 68, 72 and 74.
Scot Jillian Farrell (Charlotte) had scores of 74, 81 and 72 for 227 and a T65 finish.
Arkansas (823) won the team title by six shots from Alabama (829) with Arizona State (839) third. Clemson (867) finished ninth and Charlotte (899) last in a field of 15 teams.
