LEONA IMPROVES INTO TOP TEN
Leona Maguire, who had only her second double bogey of the college golf season in her first-round 72, improved with a second-day 70 to be joint ninth after 36 holes of the Landfall Tradition women's college tournament at the Country Club of Landfall, Wilmington, North Carolinas.
The Irish student at Duke University's tally of two-under-par 142 pushed her up to joint ninth position with a round to go. Alice Hewson from Berkhamsted, a student at Clemson University, is T39 on 149 with scores of 75 and 74.
A third GB and I international player India Clyburn from Cleethorpes, a student at North Carolina State had a disappointing second-round 78 for a two-round tally of 152 and T65 Duke (562) lead the team event by a single stroke from Alabama with Clemson (596) 14th and North Carolina State (602) 15th in a field of 18 teams.
