SCOTLAND TAKE 2-1 LEAD OVER WALES IN SENIOR NATIONALS

Scotland, playing to avoid the "wooden spoon" in the Senior Women's Home Internationals at Newport, Wales, led the host nation 2-1 after the final day foursomes.

The Scottish winners were Lorna McKinlay and Donna Jackson, and Fiona De Vries and Lesley Lloyd.

Sheena Wood and Gillian Kyle lost the top foursome on the 18th green.

In the title-deciding match, Ireland and England were drawing 1.5 apiece after the foursomes.
