Paige and Eilidh help Stetson beat college team total record
Boca Raton, Florida -- The Stetson University, Florida women's golf team completed a historic two days at the FAU Fall Invitational at Osprey Point Golf Club, Boca Raton in Florida. The team included Anglo-Scot Paige Kemp from Essex and Eilidh Watson from Dollar.
The Hatters broke the school two-round team record with a score of 583, while sophomore Erikah Neger broke the school two-round individual record by two strokes with a five-under par 139.
After shooting a career-best 69, Neger added a two-under par 70 to finish tied for fifth in the tournament. She made eight birdies overall and has now posted three consecutive rounds below par.
Paige Kemp earned a top-20 finish (tied 18th) with a total of 148. Paige, whose mother comes from Stirling, shot a season-best 73 in the first round and a 75 in the second.
Eilidh Watson, a Perth and Kinross county team player, finished 33rd with rounds of 79 and 85 for 164.
Worapitcha Anndit (Seminole State) was the individual winner with scores of 67 and 66 for 133 - two ahead of runner-up Lily Downs (Texas-El Paso) with 66 and 69 for 135.
Seminole State also won the team title with a 566 total. Florida Atlantic (572) were runners-up. Stetson (583) finished last of five teams even though their total was 16 strokes better than the college's two-round record.
