LAURA MURRAY NEEDS TO FINISH WITH TWO VERY GOOD SCORES TO EARN L E T PLAYING RIGHTS
Vikki Laing |
Laura Murray (Kippie Lodge) got back on track at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School with a round of 71 over the Amelkis course, Marrakech in Morocco, but her three-round tally of 219 has her well down the scoreboard in a share of 67th place.
After two more rounds, only the top 25 will gain playing rights on the 2018 Ladies European Tour.
Heather Stirling's prospects are even bleaker. She had a third-round 73 for 222 and is joint 77th.
The only Scot with a very good chance of gaining promotion to the Tour is Edinburgh's Vikki Laing who has a 71 for 213 and is sharing 24th place.
American Casey Donaldson, who was coached by Monifieth's Kathryn Imrie at Stanford University, California, leads by two shots after rounds of 67, 66 and 71 for 12-under-par 204.
In second place is Sweden's Julia Engstrom who last year, at the age of 15, became the youngest ever winner of the British women's open amateur championship. She has scored 67, 67 and 72 for 206.
