CHLOE LEADS, SHANNON T5 AT HALFWAY IN PORTUGAL
Scots are well to the fore at the halfway stage of the 88th Portuguese women's international amateur stroke-play championship with Stirling student Chloe Goadby from St Andrews leading the 90-strong field by two strokes and Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam sharing fifth place at West Cliffs Golf Resort, Obidos.
Goadby (pictured left) had four birdies and two double bogeys in a two-over-par round of 74 to be out on her own at three-over-par 147.
Shannon McWilliam, chasing a place in the GB and I Curtis Cup squad for the June match against USA, repeated her opening 76 and is one of four players on the 152 mark.
Shannon looked to be challenging for the lead until dropping four shots over the last five holes, including a double bogey 6 at the 17th.
Next best Scot is Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) improved by 11 shots on her first-round with a one-over par 73 which was the best score by anyone in the second round and lifted her up to a share of 18th place.
