Harder Hall Women's Invitational 2018
After a cancellation of the first round due to inclement weather conditions, the Harder Hall Women’s Invitational resumed Thursday, January 4.
After the first round, Yujeong Son carded the only sub-par round, with a 69 in windy and cold conditions. Son was followed by Leonie Bettel, with her first round of 72. With a 68 in the second round, Bettel took a one shot lead at 2-under par over Son who carded an even par 72.
Other sub-par rounds in the second round belonged to Roanne Tomlinson (71) and Kayla M. Thompson (70). The championship concludes Saturday, January 6 after three rounds.
In the Forever Forty-Nine Division, Beatriz Arenas of Guatemala improved over her opening round of 86 with a 81 for a 167 total, and leads Barbara Pagana of Selings Grove, PA by one shot.
Due to the cancellation of Wednesday’s round, the Ben Roman Division concluded today after two rounds. Mary Rhodes is the 2018 Ben Roman Champion after carding a 172 total (87-85). In the Marge Burns Flight, Kim Payne Childress and Carroll Dethrow tied for first at 173, with the scorecard payoff going to Childress.
Mary Biermann took the Tish Preuss Flight with a 183 total, after improving fifteen shots over her first round (99-84). Second place in the Tish Preuss Flight was captured by Mary Hunsberger who shot rounds of 99-89 for a 188 total.
