SHANNON McWILLIAM WINS SOUTH AFRICAN TOURNAMENT BY SIX STROKES
Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam (pictured above) won the Border Ladies stroke-play championship by a resounding six strokes at East London Golf Club, South Africa today (Sunday).

Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) finished joint second with South Africa's Danielle du Toit.
McWilliam outclassed the field, thanks to a bag of 13 birdies - four in a first round 72, seven in a second round 69 and two in a closing round of 75. She finished on 3 under par 216.
McCook had scores of 71, 75 and 76 for six-over 222 while Du Toit scored 75, 74 and 73 for the same total.
Gemma Batty (West Linton) finished 12th on 229 with rounds of 73, 78 and 78.
Chloe Goadby (Stirling) shot scores of 75, 80 and 76 for 231 and 14th place.
The general level of scores would suggest that bad weather hit the tournament on the last day.
